Hello Everyone!
Both the meditation exercise and The Integral Assessment are pretty much one in the same, well at least to me I can see the similarities. For example, it seems as if they focus on the individual's ability to show and have compassion for others, to alleviate the stressors in our lives and finding healthy ways to accomplish optimal mental and physical health.
However, the Integral Assessment, is a little more detailed. It also helps the individual find the difference between short-term and long-term happiness, and finding which is the better, naturally finding long-term happiness is ideal, but a lot of times people are not willing to stick it through. With this it will help the individual keep focused on the end product and keep them motivated to strive to that goal. It also, helps the individual listen, and I do not mean just with our ears, but with our minds. Meaning, that we should always keep a clear mind, and once we have a clear and peaceful mind it allows us to open it to all the possibilities of the individuals greatness, and also helps the other steps I had mentioned above, it just allows to be more open to the possibility that we can be at peace and happy, calm, compassionate and just happy.

Comparing Love and Kindness Exercises...
Hello Everyone,
I think Love and Kindness exercise that we participated in are similar to those mentioned in the book by Dacher. In the book it mentions similar things that were instructed for us to do in the exercise, such directing our thoughts, and love to others and other things, making it better for us to calm and soothe our minds. A lot of times, it is hard to concentrate on nothing, so this gives your brain an activity to think about while calming it and keeping it from becoming bogged down an stressed. (Dacher, 2006).
The exercise that are also mention in Dacher's book, is what athletes do to keep their minds and bodies connected, exercises such as, concentrating on the end goal. For example, say that I want to lose 15lbs in 2 months while I am working out I am concentrating on meeting that goal, not to the point that it is stressful, but more so in a therapeutic way to calm myself. Also by working out also rids some of the stress and anger, and in turn gives you a more overall healthier physique, and in turn makes you a more happier person. I found that working out is the best way to rid stress, even taking a walk helps blow of steam, and while you are walking you can enjoy the nature and being outside allowing you to think and contemplate on the things that are more important.

Practicing Love and Kindness
Hello All!!
I tried out the Loving Kindness exercise and I found weird and hard to find "love and kindness" within myself. I always have a problem with finding forgiveness and love within myself. I think that is where my flaw really lies, I need to be at peace and calm with who I am. I think this exercise was beneficial and not beneficial. I say both because, it helped me realize that I need to be at peace with who I am, and love who I am. In the sense that it was not beneficial was because I could not put my mind at ease when it came to loving myself, however, loving others and sending and opening to my heart with love for loved ones or others was easier than finding love for myself.
I think this was a mental workout because, it made you concentrate on not the physical, which people tend to do, but the psychological and spiritual aspects of being human and accepting and loving who you are. I think that for someone like myself, I think I had to mentally work harder to find that peace and ease within myself. I think that this exercise, and exercises such as this one can be beneficial to psychologist and therapists because this can and will work for some, and others may have a harder time with and not really embrace what the exercise has to teach. I honestly think that therapists should do exercises such as this to at lease relax the client/patient.

So hello again everyone!!
I am hereto rate my overall wellness on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being horrible and 10 being best/optimal.
First lets cover my physical well being, I would rate that as probably a 5, because I have no real health problems (i.e. diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and so on) but I eat horribly and I do not get enough exercise. I would rate myself as a 3 or 4, but the only thing helping me is the fact that I do not have heart diseases or cardiovascular problems, and I do get a little exercise in my job as an EMT.
Second my spiritual well being is around a 2 or 3, I am not a very religious person, meaning I do not go to a masque, temple or church to practice or mediate, or pray to God or to supreme being. However, I do believe in God and I try and pray sometimes, and do a little meditating sometimes as well, to calm my nerves and stay level when I am stressed out. But I do not do it enough, so I find myself as spiritual mess.
Lastly, My psychological health is 4 or 5 as well, because, I am constantly stressed with school, raising my son, taking care of my new house since my boyfriend is gone to Iraq, and worrying about him, so needless to say I am under a lot of stress and constantly feeling the tension.
So needless to say I am a wreck, I do not eat right, I do not exercise, practice any spiritual healing nor am I letting the stress roll of my shoulders like I should. So first to fix the physical, I think I need to fix either the psychological or the spiritual, and in turn will help motivate me to eat better and to exercise, as to where right now I am getting lazy, depressed, stressed and bored and eating foods I shouldn't mixed with no exercising the mind and body is a combination that can have detrimental effects and eventually can and will cause other health problems. So some first steps would be to try and meditate take up yoga or walking with maybe try to real start searching for the religious calling in my life. I need to not stress the small stuff and just "go with the flow" of life, and handle each hurdle as I come to them. Finally, with fixing the mind and spiritual ends I can start eating better, exercise more, choosing to exercise vs. just laying down and doing nothing. Maybe starting off with walking and eventually start running and implementing new exercises into my daily routine.
The relaxation exercise was fun and interesting, it is amazing how hard it is to relax your mind of everything and think of nothing and just concentrate on the voice talking to you. I found it fun and relaxing and I recommend that everyone should give a go at least once, to see if it helps or frustrates them.

Hello Everyone!!
I am here again to give you a few pointers on what to eat while at work. This is a very touchy subject for me, because as you all know I am an EMT, and being an EMT I do not eat the best or the healthiest. It is very hard to find foods that I can eat on the go that are healthy, and everyone gets tired of eating sandwiches everyday, so hopefully these suggestions will help me and you to make better decisions than eating doughnuts and hamburgers.
Some yummy foods you can get on the go that are delicious and healthy are fruits, such as bananas, apples, and oranges. They are delicious and very healthy. Other snacks instead of potato chips eat pita chips or Popchips, or even veggies with some low fat ranch is WAAAAY better the eating greasy (yet yummy) cheeseburgers.
Smoothies, salads, almonds, Greek yogurt, things such as these will help you curve your appetite by tiding you over until you can find a healthy dinner choice. Such as things low in fat and high in protein to help fill you up with the good stuff.
