Hello Everyone!!
Well as you all know I am an EMT and work crazy long hours, straight, and I deal with a lot of stress on the job. So being stressed about driving patients around, and caring for them, making sure I take proper care can be a lot to deal with. So in order to deal with these stressors, I need stress relievers either while I am at work, and especially when I am off of work.
I read a nice little blog on the EMT Life's The Lonely EMT's website, and a couple of people mentioned stress balls to squeeze them when times get extremely stressful at work. Also, what I find stress relieving is venting to my partner or just taking a breath, and breathe through the situation.
As for afterwork activities, I find that taking walks, reading, and I paint my nails and do my own nail art and I find doing my nails very therapeutic, and relaxing.
The Lonely EMT also mentioned on their site that Yoga is a good form of relaxing and relieving stress, which I can see would work perfectly for everyone who is stressed out at work and anyone looking to better themselves, because yoga is an amazing exercise and gets you centered and relaxed.
Besides breathing, yoga, squeezing stress balls and venting, what other things or activities are good to relieve stress on the job and off??

Wow you certainly picked an intense career. My job while not as imperative as yours is also very stressful, I manage a fast food restaurant. Making people happy whether they are wrong or right is very stressful as well. I don't know of any suggestions other than the ones you already addressed but I find it relaxing simply to watch movies in my spare time to have time to just turn off my brain and be entertained for two hours. I like your idea of stress balls and may look into getting one for myself especially when I'm at work! Good luck to you in your career and take care.
